For the first time in history New Zealand's three premier golf events were held in consecutive weeks - and Sports Inc was there to cover them every swing of the way.
The three-week sojourn began in Christchurch where Sports Inc continued their role as host broadcaster of the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women's Open for the seventh year. A team of five camera ops, two editors and eight production staff filmed and edited a one-hour highlights package broadcast on SKY Sport New Zealand, J Golf Korea, Sky Sports UK and throughout Europe via the Ladies European Tour's broadcast partners.
Golfing superstar Lydia Ko won her national open for the second time thanks to a course record 11-under par 61. And Sports Inc worked alongside NBC's Golf Channel supplying VNR footage of Lydia's record-breaking efforts to be seen through the United States Of America.
The following week it was to Auckland's Remuera Golf Club for the re-launched Holden New Zealand PGA Championship. Again Sports Inc had a large crew on site to provide VNR coverage for news networks in Australia and New Zealand and produce a half hour highlight programme broadcast on SKY Sport New Zealand. Earlier in the week the Sports Inc team produced promotional and viral videos distributed online.
The Summer Of Golf concluded at the BMW New Zealand Open held at the stunning Hills Golf Course near Queenstown. It is the fourth straight year Sports Inc has been contracted to film at the event. This year the team worked in conjunction with BMW and broadcaster SKY Sport New Zealand to shoot and edit behind-the-scenes video content of the celebrities enjoying one of the most action-packed weeks in New Zealand sport.
A highlight of the event was filming the private opening of Sir Michael Hill's personal Par Three hole in his backyard. A secret event attended by the who's who of cricket; including Sir Brian Lara, Shane Warne, Sir Ian Botham, Graeme Swann and Sir Viv Richards. See their antics here.
